The project consists of the procurement of solid waste equipment and the construction of a sorting and composting facility of capacities 150 t/d and 90 t/d, respectively.  The requested equipment include: 5 containers (capacity 1000 l), 2 plastic shredders, 2 bag openers, a biofilter, a weighbridge and an electric generator.  The composting facility is of the in vessel - tunnel composting system.  The main equipment for the sorting and composting facilities will be procured directly by the Union in cooperation with USAID.  An awareness campaign is planned to raise the awareness of citizen on the proper sorting and management of municipal solid waste.
