ü       The Environmental Impact Assessment was prepared by the municipality and submitted to the Ministry of Environment.

ü    The EIA was approved by the MoE on 19 June 2007.

ü    A new application  for the transfer of their file from concept to ready for implementation was submitted to OMSAR on 2 July 2007. The Evaluation committee requested the necessary missing documents,the Beneficiary Municipality is preparing these documents.

ü   Due to extensive delays caused by the Municipality in submitting the missing documents for reasons related to unavailability of the site,it was decided that the financing of this project be transferred to another project financed by the EU and implemented by the CDR.

      Omsar will still have to assist the municipality in the preparation of the detailed design and the preparation of the Tender documents.

ü   In October 2009, the municipality had finally succeeded in providing a piece of land to build a solid waste management facility that will serve the Union of municipalities.

ü   OMSAR, through its design consultant GMB is working on the preparation of the detailed design of the SWM facility.

ü The detailed design has been transferred to the CDR by 31 December 2009.

ü As of January 2011. All excavation works executed by the Union were completed and the works contract was awarded by CDR to “Al-Meemar”.
