ü     The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the construction of the sorting facility in Tripoli (capacity 150 t/d) was prepared under a separate contract and submitted to the Ministry of Environment.

ü   The Ministry of Environment granted its preliminary approval on the submitted EIA on March 2007. The design consultant started working on the detailed design.

ü  The Consultant submitted the final version of the tender documents in January 2009.

ü  The Tender was launched on 22 May 2009.

ü  After evaluation of offers, the contract was awarded to Al-Bonyan for engineering and contracting in December 2009.

ü The commencement order was provided to the contractor on 16 April 2010 and works are in progress since then
